Summer, Sunscreen + Sweet Little Recipe

Summer is on the way!

The days are getting long, the birds chirping earlier, and solstice is right around the corner. Ahhh, we love the sweet smells of summer, don't you?

If you're reading this, we have some things to share!

First off is a little tincture we made with the wonderful Nootka roses that are blooming all around the West Coast. We can't get enough of their scent these days.

Anywho, here's the recipe for fabulous and effective Rose Water Spritz!

1. Collect a jar of Nootka Rose petals. Please remember to harvest responsibly and take only what you need! We like to leave at least two petals on each flower for our pollinator friends to find the goods.

2. Fill a small pot with water and add your petals.

3. Bring water to a boil, and let simmer until the pigment leaves the petals. They will turn transparent.

4. Take pot off of the heat and leave the mixture to sit and marinate for a few hours longer.

5. Use cheesecloth or find mesh strainer to strain petals and save the liquid.

6. Transfer the rose water liquid to a spray bottle and voila!

** we like to add a little witch hazel to our bottles as an extra :)

7. ENJOY! Spritz on face or body morning + night or whenever you need a little refresher.  Store in fridge for a longer life!

Next up, let's talk sunscreen! It's important don't ya know.
